This camp is taught by Studio49’s resident designers/sewing teachers:
Allison Vicenzi
Allison works with natural materials and dyes to make, remake/upcycle and customize clothing and other textile products. She practices and teaches design & sewing in Livingston to creators of all ages. Her passion for creative reuse motivates her to continue finding innovative ways to repurpose existing items and materials in her process, and look towards the future where industries are more localized, regenerative, and zero-waste by design. She holds a business degree from the University of Notre Dame and an Industrial Sewing & Production certification from ISAIC, Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center, the national sewn goods manufacturing and training nonprofit based in Detroit.
Allison is excited to collaborate with Plain to the Ridge, Project49 and Studio49 to continue creating and exploring with the Livingston community.
Lillian Eaton
Born and raised in Livingston, Lillian moved back home to the area this past summer after being away for several years. Her passion for the arts has been prominent since she was young, with sewing, sustainability, and fashion at the forefront. She is a self-taught seamstress, tailor, and slow fashion designer. Her business began while living in Missoula in the summer of 2023, and has been growing steadfast ever since.
Currently, she offers alterations and tailoring to her local community, custom and original designs through her website, and sells her own designs in person at Cactus Blossom Collective in Livingston.
Otherwise, you can catch her volunteering or co-hosting artistic events for families at Studio49 downtown.
Together, through Project49
Lillian and Allison connected in August 2024 at Pine Creek Lodge during a concert down in the valley, and quickly became friends and creative counterparts. The two have jumped in full-force, hosting regular “Sewing Socials” at Studio49 and weekly drop-in art nights. Additionally, they paired up to design a collection of looks entitled “Scraps of the Harvest” for a sustainable fashion show held in Bozeman this past November, and co-hosted their first makers market during the Livingston Christmas Stroll, inviting a dozen local artists to showcase their work. Lillian and Allison’s popular Foundations of Sewing course series has taught over 30 adults to sew in its first three sessions. More Foundations courses and an intermediate Applications of Sewing can be expected to launch this Autumn 2025, along with more youth workshops and camps.
The two will continue to provide spaces for sharing their sewing skills across the community, create opportunities for other makers to build up their brands, and celebrate the art of sewing.
